Our Disciples of Christ identity
We belong to the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), a movement centered on Jesus Christ, the shared table, Christian unity, and faithful service.
Questions and thoughtful engagement are welcome here. We seek to grow in faith together rather than requiring everyone to arrive with identical experiences or answers.
What guides our life together
An open table
Communion stands at the heart of our worship as a sign of grace, remembrance, and belonging.
Open and affirming welcome
We affirm LGBTQ people and seek to be a church where every person is received with dignity and love.
Faith in action
We understand Christian faith as compassionate care, reconciliation, community involvement, and service.
Room for questions
We value learning, honest conversation, and a faith strong enough to engage difficult questions.
Our story in Anniston
First Christian Church has served Anniston as a Disciples of Christ congregation through worship, pastoral care, music, education, and community partnerships.
Today that story continues through an open and affirming welcome, Hispanic ministry, Wonder and Worship for children, local outreach, and the Diversity Theater Company.
